Crankshaft Repair of MAN 9 ASL 25/30 Engine
One of our clients informed RA Power Solutions about the failure of Crankpin No. 6 of AE#2 on the MAN 9 ASL 25/30 Model Engine. Our technicians boarded the vessel at Mumbai port and performed an evaluation of the crankshaft. During the visual inspection of the crankpin, it was noted that the crankpin bearing had melted and was badly embedded on the crankpin. The crankpin bearing was removed and found to be badly damaged. It was a serious mishap because the bearing was burned, indicating that the temperature exceeded 600°/700° Celsius.
